day 02 Port Douglas-Jungle night walk
Enjoy a day at leisure before going on a night walk through the Jungle. As the sun sets over the trees, the animals stir and the forest comes to life. There are no sounds of the city, just inky blackness and the pulse of the rainforest as it chirps, trickles, rustles and breathers. This small group interpretive tour takes you deep into our ancient forest to experience the nocturnal world. It's a singing, bustling world, far removed from man's dominance over the earth, and we'll introduce you to a weird and wonderful cast of characters who live together to create this grand circle of life. With over 50% of all species endemic to this continent found in this region, it is blessed with a wide variety of wildlife. In addition to the frequent sightings of sleeping birds and rainforest dragons, we regularly encounter forest mammals including bats and possums, many species of spiders and insects plus beautiful snakes.
