day 1 Rome-Tivoli-Marmore Falls-Spoleto-Assisi
Meeting with our guide and minibus in the hotel lobby at 08.30. Departure to Tivoli, beautiful village in the sorroundings of Rome, famous for its villas, UNESCO World Heritage. Visit of the old town. Time at your own for visit and lunch. In the afternoon, on the way to Spoleto, short stop at Marmore to admire the most beautiful Italian falls in the heart of Umbria. Continuation to Spoleto, city of 40,000 inhabitants of Roman origin that keeps symbolic monuments like the Bridge of the Towers or the Arch of Drusus and more recent like the Cathedral and the Albornozian Rock. Afternoon arrival to Assisi.
day 2 Assisi- Perugia-Todi-Assisi
This morning a nice walk in the old town of Assisi will end with a visit of the Basilica of Saint Francis. Then departure for the capital of the Umbrian region, ancient Etruscan center and rich city of history and art. Visit of the city. You can admire the Palazzo dei Priori, the Fontana Mayor, the Etruscan Gate of the 3rd century BC, the Cathedral and the medieval wall. Free time for lunch. Continue for Todi. In the afternoon, stroll through the historic center of this pretty walled village and protected by the Rock of 1373; you can see the Cathedral, the People's Square, the Palace of Priors and the Church of Consolation, built by Bramante. Return to Assisi via panoramic itinerary.
day 3 Assisi-Gubbio-Citta di Castello-Assisi
In the morning after breakfast visit of the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli at the bottom of the hill of Assisi. Departure to Gubbio, a beautiful city that is located 500 meters above sea level and shows traces of different dominations, from the Roman to the papal. Highlights include the Cathedral, the Ducal Palace, the Capitán's Palace and the Palacio de los Consules. Continuation for Città di Castello and lunch at your leisure. In the afternoon, visit the city, the largest center of the Upper Tiber Valley, which presents narrow and picturesque streets along with majestic and elegant squares, where some of the historical palaces of greater interest and beauty arise. Return to Assisi.
day 4 Assisi-Orvieto-Siena
After breakfast leave Assisi to reach the most important city on the way between Umbria and Rome: Orvieto. Only the Gothic Cathedral, imposing and elaborate, would be worth the visit to admire its façade but the city of Pozo de San Patricio, offers nice corners to breathe the medieval air of the city, try the excellent wines or the renowned food. Visit and free time for lunch. Departure to Siena and afternoon at leisure in the old town.
day 5 Siena-San Gimignano-Volterra-Siena
Morning dedicated to the visit of the city. Surrounded by the Chianti woods on one side, from the hills on the other, the city seems to extend over a low hill, in a central position with respect to the lands that have always been its domain. The famous city of Palio and contrada fascinates by the thousands of colors of its flags, its twisted streets, the perfection of its gothic monuments, the fame of its illustrious children and the taste of the products that can be tried here. Departure to San Gimignano, the "city of the Towers", where you will visit Porta San Giovanni, Cisterna Square, Palazzo del Popolo, the Civic Museum and San Agostino. Free time for lunch. Continuation for Volterra. Located on the highest point of a high hill, the city with its austere and medieval silhouette is famous for its alabaster craftsmanship. Visit of the city with the Square and the Priori Palace, Duomo, Baptistery, Pinacoteca and Civic Museum. Departure to Siena.
day 6 Siena-Chianti Route-Lucca-Siena
After breakfast,, take the Strada del Chianti - Ruta del Chianti - the most famous wine in Italy. Along the way, you can see the charming hills, the picturesque villages with their ancient towers, the farms and of course the vineyards. Visit Castellina in Chianti, the old town and its walls. Then visit Greve in Chianti with its asymmetrical square with porches and terraces. Lunch. at your leisure. Departure towards Lucca, a city surrounded by a wall of walls that has been preserved whole. Visit Napoleone Square, Province Palace, Duomo, Piazza San Martino and Piazza Anfiteatro. Then return to Siena.
day 7 Siena-Montepulciano-Pienza-Montalcino-Rome
Departure to Montepulciano. The town, an art pearl of 1500, is located 750 meters above sea level on top of a hill near the Val of Chiana, in a territory already inhabited in the Etruscan and Roman times. It is owed its fame mainly by the production of the wine "Nobile", red of great quality. Continuation for Pienza. This city, on top of a hill overlooking the Orcia Valley, is an essential stage for its artistic beauties and the good gastronomy typical of the place. The famous Piazza Pio II, Renaissance, overlooks the Cathedral, the Piccolomini Palace, the Palazzo Comunale, Borgia Palace and the wonderful panoramic promenade along the walls, which at one glance allows you to see the entire valley closed in the bottom for Mount Amiata. Exit towards Montalcino; the great fortress characterizes the city, which looms over the three Asso, d'Aria and Orcia valleys. Luch at your leisure and then continue to Rome where your tour comes to an end.
