day 01 Lisbon
Arrival at Lisbon Airport. Welcome assistance and transfer from Airport to a Hotel in city Centre. Accommodation at a 4*Hotel.
day 02 Lisbon-Sintra-Lisbon
In the morning discover Lisbon, capital of Portugal, colonized by many civilizations along the centuries. We will have the option to visit St. George Castle, including its surrounding quarter and Alfama, Lisbon's oldest quarter. We will then follow the one of the most emblematic quarters of Lisbon: Belém. Panoramic tour over the most important monuments ending in the front of Jerónimos Monastery. The morning will end tasting one of the most traditional pastries of Lisbon: the “pastel de Nata”.
In the afternoon we will drive you straight to Sintra where hundreds of years of history and culture await you. Doing a short walk in the old city centre you'll find yourself surrounded by the old houses now converted into small quaint handicraft shops and traditional pastry shops. Visit of the village center with option of visiting the Vila Palace.
The return to Lisbon will follow a very special road named "Marginal" by the Portuguese running always parallel to the white sandy beaches, passing through Cascais and Estoril with its famous casino (stop for photos).
day 03 Lisbon-Obidos-Fatima-Coimbra
Departure from Lisbon in the morning. Our first stop will be in Óbidos, a medieval village that we will visit. We will continue to Fátima, where we will visit the sanctuary and have free time to enjoy the sanctuary and for shopping. Our trip continues to Coimbra, where we will make a brief panoramic before arriving at our hotel.
day 4 Coimbra-Vale do Douro-Porto
Today begins with the visit of Coimbra, a bustling city that combines both the traces of its historic past with the youthfulness of a vibrant student community. Visit of one of the oldest university towns in Europe. We will leave the city of Coimbra and depart for the Douro Valley - an incredible region known for wine production for almost 2000 years. Visit of a local wine state where you can enjoy a fantastic traditional lunch enjoying the fantastic landscape of the Douro Valley. After lunch, we will take a guided tour of the old winery and the rest of the property. In the afternoon we will leave the Douro Valley towards Porto.
day 05 Porto-Santiago de Compostella
Morning visit of Porto, the second most important Portuguese city. Walking promenade through the narrow streets that led to Douro river. Visit to the Stock Exchange Palace and Saint Francis Church. Continue to Ribeira, declared World Heritage in 1999. Embark the coach and cross the D. Luis iron Bridge to Gaia. Visit a wine cellar including a Port wine tasting. Afterwards we will leave the city of Porto and depart towards Santiago de Compostela. Panoramic view before arriving at the hotel.
day 06 Santiago de Compostella-Salamanca
Morning visit of Santiago de Comportale and its most important temple for all pilgrims - the Cathedral. Located in the beautiful plaza de Obradoiro, you will first see the facade de la Gloria and the main entrance at the church. Declared a World Heritage Site, the Cathedral houses the silver coffer with the remains of Saint James.
We will continue towards Salamanca, a city universally known for its rich artistic heritage, cathedrals, palaces, churches and squares.
day 07 Salamanca-Avila-Escorial-Madrid
In the morning, we will take a walk along Salamanca, visiting Plaza Mayor, the House of Shields, the Cathedral and the University of Salamanca. Free time to enjoy the student atmosphere in this lovely city. We will continue to Ávila. Ávila is a World Heritage city and birthplace of Saint Teresa of Jesus. This city is surrounded by walls that encompass the main part of its valuable monuments. We will visit the Cathedral (exterior), the Basilica of St. Vincent and the Convent of Santa Teresa. Then we depart towards Escorial - visit of the monastery of El Escorial and Valley of the Fallen, built in memory of the millions who died in the Spanish Civil War. We will arrive by the end of the day at Madrid.
day 08 Madrid
Enjoy a full day with us discovering the magic of Madrid as well as the historical charm of the medieval city of Toledo. These famous cities are a must see while you are visiting Spain and with us you will get well-rounded introductions to the city’s sights and hidden gems.
Starting with Madrid’s famous avenues, including the Gran Via and Castellana, to famous squares such as Plazas de Espana, Puerta del Sol and Puerta de Alcala. We will also visit Madrid’s historic quarters and famous parks, including Casa de Campo and Retiro, and of course a panorama visit to the main attractions including The Royal Palace and Prado Museum. In the afternoon we will visit Toledo. Our visit will include the famous Cathedral, Church of St Tome, with its famous masterpiece by El Greco; the Synagogue of Santa Maria la Blanca; the Museum of Victorio Macho; the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes.
Dday 09 Madrid-Evora-Lisbon
Departure from Madrid at 07h00. Arrival in Évora and free time to enjoy the pleasures of one of the most creative cuisines of Portugal in some of the local restaurants. In Évora, we will have time to walk through the historic center and "feel" the atmosphere of this city. A panoramic view of the city, where our guide will invite you to visit the most emblematic points of the city: the church of San Francisco, with its enigmatic Chapel of Bones, the ancient Roman Temple, the 12th century cathedral and the Giraldo Square.
We will continue to Lisbon, passing through a belvedere from where you have the most fantastic views over the capital and its surroundings – the Cristo Rei belvedere.
day 10 Lisbon-Departure
Our tour comes to an end after Breakfast with your transfer from the hotel to Lisbon Airport.
